To strengthen its position in P.R China, Fives Stein (formerly Stein Heurtey) decided to set up a Chinese company, Stein (Shanghai) Industrial Furnace Co., Ltd, which was created in 1999 as a joint venture with MECC group.

Since July 2007, it is a fully owned subsidiary of Fives Stein, located in Baoshan district, Shanghai. Its main objective is to assist Fives Stein in developing its business in P.R. China and to the export market, in the sector of industrial furnaces for steel and glass industries.

With this Chinese company, Fives Stein provides industrial furnaces with advanced technology and reliable performance as well as complete technical services to steel and glass companies with competitive prices both in China and abroad.

The Chinese company has the ability to separately design, manufacture, construct, commission or to provide its customers with complete sets of equipment as a turnkey supplier. The design of furnaces is in accordance with Fives Stein’s latest technical standards and quality. It has been ISO 9001 certified since 2005.
 
Fives Stein’s Chinese subsidiary has participated in the construction of many plants for major steel makers such as Shijiazhuang, Nanjing Iron & Steel, Liangzhong (Guangzhou) Stainless Steel Corp., Handan Iron & Steel Co. in the sector of reheating furnaces and Panzhihua, Masteel, Baosteel in the sector of furnaces for galvanizing and annealing lines.

 Fives Stein has been very successful in China in the glass sector and has received orders for 6 float glass hot ends (melting furnace, tin bath and annealing lehrs) and over 30 annealing lehrs since 2000.
