Fuyao Group Shuangliao Co. Ltd., one of the high-end Chinese glassmakers and glass processors for the automotive industry in China, had awarded the construction of a new 600 mt/day float glass line to Fives Stein. The production was successfully started in September 2005 with fuel-oil and has reached high quality standards.
Last November, Fives Stein successfully converted the furnace to natural gas. The switch-over took place without detrimental impact on the glass production, thanks to the work of Fuyao and Fives Stein teams. The operation of the 600 mt/day furnace with natural gas will result in substantial reductions in the plant SOx emissions.
