Fives Stein India Projects Pvt. Ltd. and Fives Stein Bilbao signed a contract for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the 200 t/h reheating furnace for bar and rod mill in Bhilai Steel Plant.
Fives Stein India Projects Pvt. Ltd. will lead a consortium which includes Fives Stein Bilbao which will supply the foreign equipments and perform the commissioning activity, and Beekay Engineering Corp. (which will manufacture some of the equipment in their workshop in Bhilai and will perform the mechanical erection activities). The new Bhilai Steel Plant will be one of the largest capacity rolling mills for bars and wire rod in the region. The finished products will be in the range from 5.5 to 22 mm for wire rod, 8 to 40 mm for rebars, and from 16 to 60 mm for smooth rounds in straight bars. The product mix includes several steel grades for different applications, such a low-, medium- and highcarbon steel, spring steel, electrode quality, ball bearing, free cutting quality, cold heading, TMT bards and alloy steel.
