Development and optimisation of the design of our reheat furnaces
Fives Stein optimises the design of its furnaces by using commercial codes such as FLUENT®, ANSYS® and develops its own calculation programmes for dimensioning its furnaces and modelling their operation.
These calculation programmes or models are validated during test runs conducted at site in partnership with our Customers or on test platform.
Fives Stein has developed several methods for operating its installations thanks to an unstationary calculation code which can take the constraints of industrial sites into consideration in terms of product and production speed.
The purpose is to reduce consumption and polluting emissions and to increase the utilisation rate of furnaces.

With the wide flame burner developed by Fives Stein it is possible to obtain a more uniform heat exchange with the product and an excellent heating quality.
Fives Stein has recently further improved its wide flame burner to meet its customers’ needs for controlling the longitudinal temperature profiles of products through control of the flame hot sport position over furnace width.
Fives Stein’s product heating system perfectly adapts to the arrangement and types of products in the furnace depending on discharging targets.
The advantages of impulse firing (burner operated at nominal conditions, reduction of NOx, higher efficiency…) are still available.
