Power control: Power systems can be designed to suit the budget and the operational requirements of the system under consideration. Highest specification systems use fully automatic full-range power regulation without the need for intermediate range switching.
Booster Design:
Computer modelling is used to optimise electrode location in existing furnace designs and to optimise all constructional parameters in the case of new furnaces where furnace geometry can be adapted to give the best energy efficient solution. Fives Stein is also involved in research and development projects relating to modelling the interaction between convective forces from electrodes and the relationship with batch form and burner heat input.
