Fives FCB has signed, with the Egyptian Company BENI SUEF CEMENT Co, a turnkey contract to implement a new 1.5 million tons cement line (Line n° 2) for the BENI SUEF Cement Plant, located at 120 km from Cairo.
The contract, valued at more than 100m EURO, includes modifications and upgradings of the existing Line n° 1 installations for raw materials preblending and storage, supply of one new 2400 kW raw mill, one blending silo, one 5 stages single string preheater with Fives FCB design low pressure drop cyclones and low NOx precalciner, a 3 support kiln, a by-pass system, one clinker cooler, one clinker silo, one 170 tph cement ball mill Fives FCB design with TSV™ classifier and the supply of the complete associated electrical and process control system.
The equipment to be installed at the plant is based on Fives FCB innovative technology and is optimised for energy consumption and environmental protection. The plant shall meet not only Egyptian but also European environmental standards.
Works on site shall begin in the coming weeks and completion of the BENI SUEF Cement Production Line n° 2 is scheduled for end of 2009.
