Fives FCB, a process equipment and production line supplier for the cement industry, signed a contract with the Russian cement producer, JSC Mordovcement, for the design and supply of 4 wooden chip handling systems for rotary kilns. The systems will be installed for both dry and wet kilns at the Alekseevskiy, Staroalekseevskiy and Sengileevskiy cement plants.
JSC Mordovcement is the first cement company in Russia that will use wooden chips as an alternative fuel to comply with the company’s program to reduce costs and ecological impact.
The use of an alternative fuel will become possible after the commissioning of 7 new Novaflam ® burners with a wide range of adjustments to be delivered by Fives Pillard in 2011.
Mordovcement will be able to substitute up to 40% of their conventional fossil fuel usage with wooden chips, and at the same time ensure a high level of clinker quality.
