In spite of their reduced efficiency (60 to 70%) and the limited operating life of the triodes used in these converters, these power sources are still commonly used thanks to their operating flexibility, easy maintenance and ability to operate at very high frequencies in the MHz range.
Replacement of these inverters by Celes IS or Celes MP up-dated technologies could be justified when the purchase of a triode is necessary.
Repair of Celes paralell-thyristor MF inverters
These converters which are a controlled current source feeding a parallel oscillating circuit had a good efficiency. They could allow a wide range of power and frequency with serial and/or parallel couplings of fast thyristors. They now suffer from the stop of production of these semi-conductors.
