Objective
TMK, a leading pipe producer in Russia, requested the design and installation of two testers to improve cycle time, manufacturing uptime and reduce maintenance expense for multiple plant locations.
Solution
The Fives Bronx team reviewed TMK's stated objectives and requirements of the testers and went to work. Bronx/Taylor-Wilson incorporated several of its Design Advantages to ensure improved cycle time, manufacturing uptime and reduce maintenance cost. Fives Bronx was able to present through its engineering and design process, a far superior hydrostatic pipe tester than its nearest competitor.
After submittal, Fives Bronx was the clear choice for not only one, but both of TMK machines at Sinara and Tagmet. Fives Bronx was awarded a contract for the design, manufacturing and installation of two Hydrostatic Pipe Testers for API 5L and 5 CT product.
The tester for JSC Tanganrog Metallurgical Works is the first to pressure test 60.3 to 219mm pipe up to 150 MPA. The second machine services the Joint Stock Company Sinarsky Pipe Works Zavodskoy Plant. This machine is capable of pressure testing 177.8 mm pipe up to 150 MPA. The designs feature a 2.962KN end load.
