Fives develops a rolling oil filtering process

 

Thousands of litres of oil have to be continuously recirculated in order to cool the stainless steel strip during cold rolling, and that oil must be cooled and filtered. In the context of its quest for sustainable industrial development, Fives has developed a new magnetic filtering process that dispenses with the need for consumables. Decontamination is achieved by means of a magnetic separating and settling system that replaces the conventional system using filter cartridges, which are a source of pollution and require periodic changing.
